C’est moi.

In Aug 2008 I was a mid fifties, early retired and kept woman living in South West France.  I spend an  inordinate amount of time online and sometimes like to share my thoughts, ideas and ponderings.  There is no consistency (as far as I am aware) to my blogs, just random stuff that strikes me now and again.

At the end of 2013, much later in my 50’s than when I began this blog, I became less retired (I’ve never been described as retiring) and started volunteering 2 mornings per week at Restos du Coeur, published my Dad’s letters home to his family during WW2  Letters from Stalag VIIIb and created a team at Team Kath&Ko Kiva.  In early 2014 became an Independent Consultant for Neal’s Yard Remedies Organic.

I am not sure how my blogging will change, we will see.

  1. I to am in France and do a similar blog to yours, more photos though and less thoughts. Possibly a good thing knowing what I do about what is in my head!

  2. Did you ever learn more about sense of smell and menopause? I just started experiencing this and I am literally going out of my mind! I am a chef by trade and already have a heightened sense of smell prior to this. Now it is just insane! And I zero in on the bad smells. I am 45 years old, feel like I may just be starting to experience other menopausal symptoms, as well. I am meeting with my doctor next Friday. Any advice as to what I should ask him for? Thank you!

    • Hi Bethany,

I am so sorry, I have found out no more than I have written about. Mine has improved since before, but I really do understand that in your profession it must be so hard. I do take supplements now, I don’t know if they help, they help somewhat with hot flushes which was my main reason for using them.
I now find that many foods taste very similar and I sometimes have to take it on trust that what I am eating is indeed tasty.
I hope there is something than can help you. Let me know how you get on.
      Kathy
